We provide the following services:

Prototype manufacturing to production stage:

Elinem Engineering will convert your plan for a product/component from an idea into a drawing and finally a specifically manufactured item.

Turnkey Projects:

Elinem Engineering’s turnkey projects involve the design, manufacturing, installation and implementation as well as the management of machines for our clients. We have done the following turnkey projects:

Manufacturing of special machines for A.E.C.I. Midland Factory for the tapping of liquid carbide to increase productivity.
Manufacturing and installing a high-pressure pipeline with valves for a downsizing plant at Iscor, Vanderbijlpark works.
Elinem Engineering designed, manufactured and installed a Soap Transfer Machine to increase productivity by as much as 200%.
Elinem Engineering manufactured and upgraded six Tension Leveller modules at Iscor, Vanderbijlpark.
Elinem’s pride was the complete manufacturing of highly sophisticated mixers for the explosives industry. It consisted of high precision mixing blades that was completely manufactured out of stainless steel utilizing .
Elinem Engineering CAD facility to the full extent.
Elinem Engineering designed and put in production the entire range of “Buddy Welders” with continuous supply of new products.

Fabrication:

Elinem Engineering does light fabrication (sheet and welded assemblies) up to 10-ton fabrication.

Reverse Engineering:

Elinem Engineering has broad experience with reverse engineering. Components manufactured include teabag cutters for the food industry as well as numerous components for Humba machines used in the food and beverage industry and Arcel machines used in the packaging industry.

CAD CAM Manufacturing - Wire cutting, CNC Milling and turning:

Elinem Engineering is capable of doing complex surface machining and close tolerance work of very high standards working on CADKEY, Mastercam 9.1 and other computer aided design software. We can work from a sample (reverse engineering), DXF or IGES files for solid modelling machining.

The machine size and capabilities of the machines are:

CNC laths (6 CNC Laths (Ø = 300-600; z = 475-1000)
7 CNC Machining Centres (x = 400-1600; y = 420-700; z = 200-700)
CNC Machining Centres: 3 axes, 4 axes & full 5 axes capability.

Wire cutting:

Elinem has two BKDC wire-cutting EDM machines installed with CAXA EDM software. Programs can be written directly into the machine or via DXF files.

Maximum cutting thickness 120mm
Wire thickness 0.18mm
Maximum inclination in taper cutting approx 3° / 50mm

Toolmaking - Jigs and fixtures:

Several Jigs and Fixtures were made for clients such as Automotive and railway brake systems and BAE OMC Landsystems. Elinem Engineering was involved in the manufacturing of Jigs, Fixtures and component Manufacturing for Aerosud on the ASPIC project. Dedicated tooling can be made to any requirements.

Specialized Welding - Aluminium and Stainless Steel:

GMAW (Argon, CO2), TIG and MMAW welding processes are used to weld various materials such as cast iron, stainless steels, high and low alloy carbon steels, weldable aluminium and AL-MG alloys.

‘X ray’ and Non-destructive testing (NDT) can be done on all welded pieces. Welding procedures, procedure qualification and welder qualifications, approved by a third party welding inspection authority, can be done on the above materials.

Subcontracting:

Various subcontractors do big-gear cutting and splines, heat treatment, plating - including anodizing, electro plating, alodine and shot blasting, as well as specialized painting to precision and high standards. Elinem Engineering pride itself with over twenty years of partnerships with various suppliers’ local and abroad to enhance our services that we supply to our customers.

Innovative Concept design, Product development and Detail designing:

An experienced team do the planning or improvement of concept designs according to the client’s needs and specifications. We strive towards keeping it simple and practical yet professional. 3D CAD Assembly and detailed drawings are drawn to SABS drawing standards. We provide customers with complete data packs with the required tolerances and drawing symbols etc.
